COVID-19 Update: Next Steps
Dear Scouts Canada Parents,
Nothing is more important to Scouts Canada than the safety and well-being of all youth entrusted to our care. Not only do we have a "duty of care" for youth, Scouters and our staff, but we also have a social responsibility to provide leadership in support of the Government of Canada. As such, Scouts Canada is supporting the direction of government and health agencies in maintaining public health.
On March 12, several provinces announced that schools will be closed to manage the spread of the novel Coronavirus COVID-19. The following actions taken by Scouts Canada will be effective Monday, March 16 until at least April 5, 2020. We will continue monitoring developments and make decisions on a possible extension if required:
All Section programs across Canada will cease, including regular meetings, outdoor adventures, tours/visits and camps.
All Scouts Canada events and activities such as Scouter Cons, Kub Kar Rallies, training, and any/all Scouter meetings will be suspended or postponed
All Scout Properties will be closed and associated events cancelled or postponed
All March break camps have been cancelled
All Scout Shops will be closed; Scoutshop.ca will remain available
We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure that all youth, Scouters and parents are provided a safe and healthy Scouting experience.
We will continue to monitor the situation and advice from pertinent government and health agencies. Any changes to Scouts Canada direction and other relevant information will be posted on our Coronavirus Update, page which will be updated regularly.
If you have questions, please address them with your direct Scouting supervisor such as a Section Contact Scouter or Group Commissioner.

If you have questions related to a planned event or camp, please contact the organizing team lead of that event.
Yours in Scouting,
Andrew Price – Executive Commissioner and CEO
Tim Welch – National Commissioner
Annabelle Loder – National Youth Commissioner ... See more
